Isla Grande is known as the Brazilian Caribbean, famous for its Lopes Mendes beach, considered one of the most attractive on the Brazilian coast. Also noteworthy are the beaches of Dois Rios, Aventureiro and Parnaioca on the Atlantic side and Feiticeira, Saco do Céu, Laguna Azul, Laguna Verde, Araçatiba, Ubatubinha, Abraozinho and Das Palmas, among others, on the continental side. Not everything is a beach on the island, the mountains and the Atlantic Forest-type jungle are also tourist attractions.
On the island there are no cars or motorized land transport, only walking or cycling is allowed.
The largest tourist structure is in Vila do Abraão.
